Hello there and welcome to my fitness journal. This entry marks the end of week one for my workouts. I did three days on, one day off and then three days on. I think I’m going to stick with this routine, seems to work for me.
I started at 305lb this week and ended today at 300lb. So I lost five pounds. Woohoo! :)
I’ve seriously barely eaten anything but chicken and veggies. Haha. but this is basically the breakdown of my diet
I have a bowl of Grape nuts with almond milk in the morning. Sometimes with Strawberries or bananas. Then for lunch I’ll have a big salad and a peanut butter sandwich (no jelly) Then right before I go to the gym I have a scoop of protein with some water. After my workout I’ll cook up some chicken with onions, green beans and mushrooms and brown rice. I had steak twice but I can’t have too much red meat because I have really high Cholesterol. And I REALLY try and stay away from cheese.
I can’t tell you how amazing I feel right now as I write this. I’ve never been more focused on accomplishing something in my life. I’ve done a lot of things in the last week that will hopefully help me accomplish this goal.
I had to distance myself from a few friends and a few different places that I used to hang out at. It was hard to break some friendships but it HAD to be done because I really need positive people in my life right now and I need to go to positive places.
When I quit smoking I had to stop hanging out at my favorite coffee shop and bars because this is where I did the majority of my smoking. Also I had to stop hanging out with a lot of my smoker friends. Again it’s rough to just ditch your friends like that but ultimately NOTHING is more important then your health so if your friends aren’t going to support your lifestyle changes then sorry, cya later buddy.
I’ve come to the realization that I need to look at food as fuel and not this emotional crutch that I’ve been leaning on for SO LONG. This is what I’ve been focusing on a lot lately. Any time I have a craving for some ice cream or cheese or whatever I just stop and think to myself “this has no real health benefits and I will only enjoy it for a few minutes and then I’ll go right back to feeling the way I did before I ate it.” Usually this works. And if I can’t kick a craving then my trick has been to swig some mouth wash really quick. Usually that will kill any craving I have for food. I know it sounds strange but hey it works and it cleans my teeth. Haha.
Next week my goal is to go to the gym 6 days, lose another 5 pounds and check out the yoga class at my 24 hour fitness.
Oh and just a side note, my heaviest was 320. which was a few months ago. My doctor had me do some blood work and I found out that I have dangerously high cholesterol. So I started dieting and doing a little bit of exercise and lost about 15 pounds but wasn’t taking it too seriously. I fell off the wagon and put back on some of the weight and one day I was just like, “what the hell am I doing?” So I started going hardcore on my diet and then started hitting the gym.
Also I stopped drinking alcohol completely. What’s the point? It’s fun but it doesn’t help my body at all and I tend to eat shitty foods when I’m drunk, so cya booze. haha.
So here’s to another week of getting healthy and feeling good.
:)
